Cope
Better, Work Better, Live Better
A free, three-hour, hands-on, stress-management workshop for adults with Attention Deficit Disorder. Produced by
Omega Prime and co-presented by Susan Withers and Beth Main.
Stress is part of living with ADHD. If we can get our stress under control, we will be much better equipped to manage our ADHD symptoms. We often don’t think too much about a stressful day in terms of why the day was stressful, what contributed to the stress, and how we can make future days less stressful. Often at night, we just want to forget what happened during the day.
In this three-hour training, we explore the topic of stress more deeply and practice six stress-management techniques to help you manage stress and reduce its impact on your life. The main focus of this course is on stress in the workplace; however, this training also applies to stress in your personal life.
After participating in this workshop, you should be able to:
-
Describe what stress is and identify sources of stress
-
Explain the physical, emotional, and relational effects of stress
-
List
the ways stress impacts your ADHD symptoms
-
Compare and contrast strategies for coping with stress and stressful situations
-
Describe why incorporating stress-management techniques at work benefits both employers and employees
-
Integrate stress-management techniques in your work and personal life
The
next workshop will be held in fall 2010. Watch this page or contact
Beth for date and time.
